Decisions kept in Australia
Group strategy, major investment, global product priorities and other decisions that genuinely belong with headquarters.
Australia · European interim and fractional leadership
An Australian company may need senior leadership in Europe when important local decisions no longer have someone with the authority and experience to make them during European business hours.
The requirement may be temporary, ongoing but part-time, or a bridge to a permanent executive. Start with the work that needs senior attention rather than a job title.
Jazzer works from Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Last reviewed 4 October 2026.
Business triggers
The need for European leadership is usually visible in a decision or responsibility that can no longer wait for Australian headquarters.
A European operation has grown beyond remote supervision.
A senior role is vacant and the function cannot wait for a permanent appointment.
A launch has moved from strategy into day-to-day execution.
Finance, controls or reporting need senior attention.
Operations or technology need decisions closer to the European business.
A transformation or acquisition needs temporary senior leadership.
Australia and Europe
A small European sales presence can often work through Australian headquarters. The model becomes harder when customer escalations, hiring or operational decisions repeatedly turn into overnight hand-offs.
Group strategy, major investment, global product priorities and other decisions that genuinely belong with headquarters.
Defined customer, people, partner, operating or budget decisions that need timely local judgement.
Working model
A substantial senior responsibility needs full attention now for a defined period.
Responsibility: Temporary executive responsibility for the agreed mandate.
The European business needs recurring senior judgement but not a full-time executive.
Responsibility: A defined function or priority for part of the week or month.
The company needs expertise or analysis rather than operating authority.
Responsibility: Advice and decision support; not the executive seat.
The role has become structural and belongs in the long-term European organisation.
Responsibility: Ongoing executive responsibility.
Functional mandates
Reporting, controls, planning, cash, transactions or development of the European finance function.
Delivery, service, supply chain, organisational performance or stabilisation of European operations.
Executive technology decisions, systems, product or transformation requiring senior technical judgement.
A defined change across functions, systems or operating model that needs experienced leadership.
Governance, workstreams, decisions and handover after an acquisition.
Senior responsibility when European expansion has moved beyond market research into local customers, people and operations.
Location
The executive does not automatically need to sit in the legal headquarters. Location should follow customers, teams, countries and the decisions included in the mandate.
London or another UK base can be relevant where the operating responsibility is genuinely centred on Britain.
The Netherlands can suit a multi-market commercial or operating role when customers, teams and regional responsibilities are concentrated there.
German market experience can matter more than generic “European” tenure when customers, teams or operations are concentrated there.
Dublin can suit selected international technology or services models, but only where the mandate can genuinely be carried from Ireland.
Introduction process
Jazzer’s role is to make a relevant introduction when we already know a senior professional whose experience fits the defined mandate. We do not run an executive search or build a candidate shortlist.
Explain what is happening in Europe and why senior attention is needed now.
Set geography, decision rights, timing, team scope and expected result.
Where Jazzer already knows a professional whose experience fits the mandate, we can introduce you.
You and the professional discuss scope, availability, working model and commercial terms and decide whether to proceed.
Commercial terms
Jazzer does not charge the client a separate search, intake, placement or introduction fee for the engagement.
The professional’s fee depends on the role, scope, location, decision authority, time commitment and duration. It is agreed for the specific assignment.
